Temperature control principle

The fermentation tank is a device specially used for microbial and yeast fermentation. Its main temperature control principle is to control the temperature by detecting the temperature inside the tank and adjusting the heat supply and heat dissipation inside the fermentation tank. Specifically, it uses instruments such as temperature sensors to detect temperature changes in the tank and transmits the detected data to the control system. Then, the control system will judge based on the preset temperature range. If the current temperature is too high, it will increase the temperature inside the fermentation tank by controlling the internal heating of the fermentation tank. If the current temperature is low, it will increase the temperature inside the fermentation tank by controlling the internal heating of the fermentation tank. The method of heat dissipation reduces the temperature inside the tank and ultimately achieves the purpose of controlling the temperature inside the tank.

 

Effect of temperature in laboratory fermentation tanks

The temperature of the fermentor will affect many parts of the fermentation process, such as affecting the reaction rate of enzymes, changing the synthesis direction of bacterial metabolites, affecting the metabolism of microorganisms, etc. Too high a temperature will accelerate the metabolism of the strain and the aging of the bacteria, and may even directly kill the strain; a temperature that is too low will slow down the metabolism of the bacteria and reduce the product synthesis rate, thus affecting production. Some strains will change their metabolic pathways at different temperatures, and the corresponding products will also be different. The optimal fermentation temperature of the fermentor is not only beneficial to the growth of bacteria, but also helpful to the synthesis of metabolites. However, the optimal temperature of the same microorganism has different requirements under different culture conditions. Temperature control method of warm fermentation tank

     1.Adjust the ambient temperature

Fermentation tanks are often placed in a relatively closed indoor environment, and the level of room temperature will directly affect the temperature of the fermentation tank. Therefore, to control the temperature of the fermentation tank, the ambient temperature should be adjusted first. If the outdoor temperature is high, it is recommended to use cooling equipment such as air conditioners or fans to keep the indoor environment cool.

  1. Use a cooler

If the ambient temperature cannot meet the requirements, you can consider using a cooler to lower the temperature inside the fermentation tank. The cooler can pump low-temperature water or coolant into the fermentation tank to reduce the temperature. When using a cooler, attention should be paid to the handling and recycling of the cooling liquid to avoid environmental pollution.

  1. Increase ventilation

The microbial metabolism in the fermentation tank will cause chemical reactions and also produce heat. Therefore, increasing ventilation is another way to control the temperature of the fermentation tank. Ventilation allows air to circulate in the fermentation tank, taking away exhaust gas and heat, thereby lowering the internal temperature. However, it should be noted that while increasing ventilation, appropriate humidity must be maintained, otherwise the fermentation effect will be affected.

  1. Adjust the sealing of the fermentation tank

The sealing of the fermentation tank will also affect temperature control. If the sealing of the fermentation tank is poor, it will easily cause temperature loss. Therefore, the sealing layout and moisture resistance of the fermentation tank should be checked, and moisture and waterproofing work should be done to achieve the sealing effect.
