Introduction to Disc Centrifuge

Disc centrifuge is a high-speed mechanical separator that uses a series of conical plates (discs) stacked inside a rotating bowl to amplify the surface area for sedimentation. The resulting centrifugal force (typically >5,000 g) rapidly separates solid particles from liquids, even when particle sizes are very small (1–10 microns). Its compact design, continuous operation, and high throughput make it a preferred solution over conventional filtration or decanter centrifuges for biological processes.

Whether you’re working with microbial cultures, yeast suspensions, algal biomass, or mammalian cell lines, our disc centrifuge system provides high separation efficiency, robust reliability, and compliance with GMP standards, making it the ideal solution for biotech manufacturers and processing facilities.

In modern biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, and industrial fermentation, effective solid-liquid separation is a vital step in downstream processing. Our disc centrifuge (also known as a disc stack centrifuge) is engineered to deliver rapid and efficient separation of biological cells, proteins, microorganisms, and other biomass from process liquids. Designed for bioreactor applications, this high-speed centrifuge is ideal for both continuous and batch processes, making it an essential tool for process optimization and yield enhancement.

Key Features of Our Disc Centrifuge

1. High Separation Efficiency
Capable of separating solids as fine as 0.5–2 microns with a recovery rate of up to 98%, making it ideal for cell harvesting and broth clarification.

2. Continuous or Batch Operation
Supports both continuous inline separation or batch-based processing, providing maximum flexibility for different production workflows.

3. Automatic Sludge Discharge
Features self-cleaning bowl with intermittent or fully automatic discharge, reducing manual intervention and improving productivity.

4. Hygienic and GMP-Compliant Design
All wetted parts are made from 316L stainless steel and polished to pharmaceutical-grade standards. Optional CIP/SIP (clean-in-place / steam-in-place) configurations are available.
